Didn’t manage to secure your spot in the first registration phase? Don’t give up just yet! You still have a chance to participate in MIUT® 2027 through the second registration phase, which will take place via a draw.
We know how much it means to many of you to be on the starting line in Madeira. That’s why we’ve gathered all the information so you can understand how the draw works and how you can participate.
How will the draw work?
In this second phase, 20% of the spots for each distance will be allocated via draw. To prepare yourself, make note of these important dates:
- October 26 to November 9, 2026: Pre-registration period for the draw. Pre-registration is free.
- November 14: Date of the draw.
- From November 14, 2026: Contact with selected athletes begins.
Before participating, there are some important rules you should know.
You can enter the draw for multiple distances, but you can only be selected in one of them. If your name is selected for a distance, you will not be able to obtain another spot through this draw.
If you already have a confirmed registration in another distance, you can still enter the draw. If you are selected for another race and meet the respective qualification requirements, the organization will contact you.
Please note: Participating in the draw does not guarantee a spot. For MIUT LEGEND, ADVANCED, and DISCOVER, you will always need to meet the qualification requirements for the intended distance.
Pay attention to your email: don’t miss your chance!
After completing your pre-registration for the draw, you will receive a confirmation email indicating that you are on the waiting list (draw list).
If you do not receive this email, check whether your pre-registration was completed correctly. Also, check your spam or junk folder, as your email provider might be blocking or filtering messages sent by the Rockthesport platform.
If you are selected in the draw, the organization will contact you by email so you can complete your registration. From the moment you receive that email, you will have only 48 hours to reply and finalize the registration process.
If you do not reply within this deadline, you will lose the right to the spot, which will then be assigned to the next eligible athlete according to the order of the waiting list.
To avoid missing this opportunity, we recommend that you:
- Carefully double-check the email address you use during pre-registration.
- Regularly check your inbox, including spam and junk folders.
- Confirm that messages from Rockthesport are not being blocked or filtered by your email service.
Don’t forget: pre-registration is only complete once you receive the corresponding confirmation email. And if you are selected, keep a close eye on your email — 48 hours pass quickly!
Where can you register?
Pre-registrations for the draw will take place through the Rockthesport.com platform and will be available from October 26 to November 9, 2026.
The link for pre-registration will be shared on our social media channels on October 26, the opening date of the registration period.
What are the qualification requirements?
To participate in MIUT LEGEND, ADVANCED, or DISCOVER, you need to have a qualification result visible on your ITRA profile, obtained between January 1, 2024, and the registration date.
The minimum requirements are as follows:
- MIUT LEGEND: 4 ITRA points or 115 km-effort.
- MIUT ADVANCED: 2 ITRA points or 45 km-effort.
- MIUT DISCOVER: 1 ITRA point or 25 km-effort.
If you are selected in the draw but do not meet the requirements for the distance you applied for, you will not be granted a spot in that race. In that case, your name will move to the bottom of the respective waiting list.
Therefore, before entering, confirm that your result is visible on your ITRA profile and meets the required criteria.
What happens after the draw?
The order in which names are drawn will also determine the order of the waiting list after the completion of this second registration phase.
If you don’t get a spot in the draw, you may still have an opportunity through the waiting list if places become available. Your position will depend on the draw order and the application of qualification requirements.
Although securing a spot cannot be guaranteed, it is worth following all updates and staying attentive to your email.
We know how much MIUT means to many of you, and we look forward to welcoming you to Madeira in April 2027.
