🏃‍♂️ MIUT® 2026 Registration Guide — Everything You Need to Know

Thinking about taking on the trails of Madeira at MIUT® 2026? 🌋
Here’s everything you need to know about the registration process, requirements, and key dates to make sure your spot is secured and your adventure begins the right way.

📝 Registration Requirements and Obligations

All participants must complete their registration correctly through the official platform and ensure that all personal information provided is accurate.

🔹 MIUT LEGEND (110k), MIUT ADVANCED (80k) & MIUT DISCOVER (56k)

To register for these distances, participants must have completed a trail running race listed on the ITRA (International Trail Running Association) website.

• MIUT LEGEND (110k) → Requires 4 ITRA points (or a race equivalent to 115 effort km) earned between January 1, 2023 and your registration date.
• MIUT ADVANCED (80k) → Requires 2 ITRA points (or a race equivalent to 45 effort km) within the same period.
• MIUT DISCOVER (56k) → Requires 1 ITRA point (or a race equivalent to 25 effort km).

Validation of your ITRA points may take up to 7 days after registration. If the requirements aren’t met, your registration will be cancelled and refunded (minus payment fees and optional insurance).

💻 Registrations

Registration opens for 90% of available spots according to the following schedule (Portugal time – Lisbon):

• Oct 27, 2025 – 15:00* → MIUT LEGEND (110 km)
• Oct 28, 2025 – 15:00* → MIUT ADVANCED (80 km)
• Oct 29, 2025 – 15:00* → MIUT DISCOVER (56 km)
• Oct 30, 2025 – 15:00* → MIUT MARATHON (40 km)
• Oct 31, 2025 – 15:00* → MIUT STARTER (17 km)

*Portugal time-lisbon

The remaining 10% of entries will be allocated via a lottery (see Regulation 3).

🗓️ Key dates:

• Nov 3–7, 2025 → Pre-registration for races sold out before Nov 3
• Nov 12, 2025 → Lottery draw and results
• Nov 15, 2025 → Deadline for confirmed lottery registrations

If a race isn’t sold out by November 3, registrations remain open until March 15, 2026, and no lottery will take place.

💳 Registration Process

All registrations must be made through the official link that will be available at www.miutmadeira.com.

After completing the form and payment (credit or debit card), you’ll receive an email confirmation to secure your spot.
If you make the payment but don’t receive a confirmation email, it means your registration didn’t go through — this could mean that the race sold out while you were completing the form.

💡 A 3.9% platform fee applies at checkout.

Participants can also add Registration Refund Protection (15% of the race fee) during registration — this option cannot be added later.
